Our Harbour Island Guide!

Happy Tuesday, y’all! We absolutely adore Harbour Island and always get a bunch of questions about our favorite spots and recommendations, so as promised we are sharing those today! We’ve also included a roundup in the gallery below that features our latest island-inspired favorite finds!

The Dunmore and Ocean View Club are both beautiful hotels, and Coral House is a perfect spot for groups and families (a 2,500 sf home with a private pool) that is owned by Chassity of Look Linger Love…it can be booked on VRBO here! Chatterbox is another darling rental house, and the oh-so-stylish India Hicks offers multiple homes that are available for rent on the island!

We love Da Vine for sushi; breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Dunmore (so charming and designed by our friend Amanda Lindroth!); and don’t miss the pancakes at Sweet Spot Café! Dunmore Deli has yummy beach sandwiches; the restaurants at the Pink Sands Resort (built in 1951 as the first resort on Harbour Island’s pink sand beach!) are great; try Sip Sip for lunch (when it reopens!); and head to Aquapazza for Italian and seafood. Be sure to make reservations in advance whenever possible since these spots tend to fill up. For late-night cocktails and dancing, head to Daddy D’s and Gusty’s (the sand floors are a fun touch!).

Our favorite shopping spots on the island are Shine, Blue Rooster, the Sugar Mill (owned by India Hicks, who also wrote a beautiful book about Harbour Island!), Dake’s Shoppe and Princess Street Gallery (featuring wonderful original works by Bahamian artists).

When you’re booking your Harbour Island getaway, do be aware that some businesses close during late summer and fall for hurricane season, and you’ll also want to stay updated on COVID travel requirements and regulations via the official government health site.

We’ve included a bunch of our favorites below that are perfect for Harbour Island or whenever you want a little bit of island style in your wardrobe! Our P+P Creative Club Charleston Weekend!

Happy Wednesday, y’all! Have you joined in on the P+P Creative Club fun yet? We started this digital platform almost a year ago as a way to bring creative women together to inspire one another, share business information, and build a community full of likeminded individuals who are on the path to create the life they want. One of the most exciting parts of this community is our in person events, and we were over the moon to finally bring this group of women together in Charleston two weeks ago for a weekend of fun! Over the course of three days, we had the chance to meet and mingle with the loveliest group of creative women in addition to hearing from an all star line up of speakers who shared their stories, advice, and learning lessons in business with us. Sprinkle in the fact that we had the most picturesque city of Charleston as our backdrop, jaw dropping and beautiful locations for our events, and the most impeccable hotel, The Dewberry, as our host, and you have yourself a weekend that we all will be buzzing about for months to come! Some Like it Hot Cocktail Party

We kicked off the weekend with a spicy cocktail hour hosted by Molly Fienning and Red Clay Hot Sauce! While sipping on Red Clay’s signature Spicy Margarita, our attendees had the chance to meet one other and starting forming the connections that would continue to flourish over the next few days. We enjoyed light but seriously tasty bites by local Charleston Vietnamese chef, Little Miss Ha, and got to listen in as Gen and Molly, founder of Babiators and Red Clay, chatted about the power of leveraging female relationships in business. Coffee Q+A at The Dewberry

In the beautiful morning sunlight of The Dewberry’s rooftop Rivers Room, we started Saturday by sipping coffee and enjoying house made pastries with all of our friends and listening to an inspiring line up of panel speakers. Venita Aspen, who has an incredible holiday collection launching with CROSBY by Mollie Burch later this year, and Emily Hertz, who has her second collection with Antonio Melani for Dillard’s launching next Spring, shared their insight around brand collaborations, Catalina Gonzalez and Kayce Hughes spoke about the importance of women supporting women, and Chassity Evans and Neely and Chloe Burch expanded upon the importance of building your own brand!

Shopping Soiree on King Street

After a morning packed full of inspiration, we took the streets of Charleston and popped into some of our very favorite local spots including Hampden Clothing, Amanda Lindroth, LAKE, and of course, an antique shop or two!

Happy Hour at LAKE

We finished the day at the sweet storefront of LAKE, our absolute favorite spot for the comfiest pj’s! (P.S. LAKE is currently having their big summer sale, so if you don’t already own one of their dreamy lounge sets, whimsical summer dresses, or timeless pima cotton robes, now is the time to snap them up!) Gen was joined by interior designer guru, Olivia Brock, and the two chatted about Olivia’s design process, her inspiration for LAKE’s retail space, and some of her favorite projects to date. And if this shop wasn’t sweet enough already, Caroline’s Cakes treated us to some of their delicious cake bites and signature 7 layer rainbow cake!

“Create the Life You Want” Brunch at The Post House Inn

What better way to wrap up an amazing weekend of events than with a quaint Sunday brunch? We headed over the bridge to the MOST charming spot in Mt. Pleasant, The Post House Inn, and enjoyed a delicious family style brunch on their picture perfect patio with all of our new friends . To close out our lineup of speakers, we had the privilege of hearing from Hanna Seabrook, owner of the genius branding and creative agency, Gadabout, and Stephanie Summerson Hall, owner of one of our very favorite small businesses, Estelle Colored Glass! Hearing about the unique professional journeys of both of these incredibly talented female creatives was the perfect way to end our weekend together and left all of those in attendance inspired and encouraged to go and create the life they want!
