Design Refresh with Serena & Lily!

Happy Wednesday, y’all! We have been overdue for a little design refresh in our upstairs bunk room and just found the perfect pieces at Serena & Lily to help both the look and functionality of the space! We desperately needed some extra storage in this room and fell in love with the Driftway Chest. It’s a Parsons-style design with clean, classic lines, but then it has the most fun touches of color and texture by being wrapped in pale blue weathered linen with a matte lacquer finish. It is so beautifully made and substantial, and the shade of blue is just perfect! The chest now does double-duty as a roomy storage piece, as well as a bedside table for our guests. There are additional styles available in the Driftway collection if you need a different size or want coordinating pieces…we love them all but in particular are eyeing the bookshelf and wide dresser for our next additions!

We also added the sweetest linens with a wavy scalloped edge. Serena & Lily’s Wave Sheet Set is a great update on a classic embroidered sheet, and their bedding is such beautiful quality. The sheets wash and wear so well, and soften perfectly over time. For an extra special touch for guests, we press the sheets…not only do they look crisp and beautiful, but it also makes them feel even softer! The Wave Sheet Set comes in four colors of embroidery, and we absolutely love them all (Lobster Red, Seashell Pink, French Blue and Coastal Blue). We chose the Coastal Blue for this room since it matches the Driftway Chest so well. Since you know we can’t resist a little pattern mixing, we threw some stripes, checks and florals into the mix, plus some ruffles for texture. Embroidered pillows are another perfect pick for adding texture to a bed, and we love the styles available from Serena & Lily!

Sunny Tabletop Finds!

Happy Monday, y’all! A fun pop of color is the perfect way to get the day off to a happy start, and we are loving these new sunny finds from Walmart! This stoneware dish set includes four place settings (16 pieces), with great textured details in the perfect shade of yellow. They’re also available in red, royal blue and white, and we love that the whole set is under $70 right now!

We paired the dishes with a large-scale gingham tablecloth (just $12!) and fringed-edge napkins in a coordinating windowpane pattern (set of 6 for just $15!). We just adore how the pieces work together…for under $100 total we were able to truly transform our breakfast table into the most cheery, summery space! These finds would also be perfect for an al fresco summer lunch or dinner table.

Happy Friday, y’all!
