creative camp fun!

Where to begin? On Saturday, August 4th we hosted our very first "Creative Camp". You might've seen a little sneak peek of all the fun on Instagram, or followed along on our stories as we highlighted the exciting events of the day! It was such a joy to meet 24 creatives from all across the country and seriously a highlight of the year for us!  We thought it would be fun to share a little recap of our ridiculously fun filled day!

We began the day with breakfast from a local favorite, "Little Octopus"! Our wonderfully talented friend, Sarah Gavigan served up an exquisite menu: Mesclun Salad, Peaches + Cream Parfait, Tomato + Onion Fritatta, and Local Veg Crudite. It was the perfect and most delicious meal to help jump start our action packed day!

Our favorite part of the day was finally putting faces to names (and Instagram profiles). So much fun meeting new friends!

To help create the perfect day, we collaborated with event planner extraordinaire Molly Sohr (AKA our sweet niece who so generously offered up her expertise), of The Cedar Lane. She is stylish, even-keeled, beyond hard working, and made the perfect addition to our team for "Creative Camp"! Thank you, Molly! See more of her expert event tips here!

We began the day with an intimate tour of our 1920's home where we shared design decisions and sources plus all the ins and outs of our gut renovation. We wrapped up with a breakout session solely dedicated to answering all of your most often asked brand questions and shared our social media "tips and tricks"!

P.S.–Did you spot the vintage screen? More like this are available at Viyet! The entire day was made possible through their fantastic support–and shared love for vintage treasures! If you are looking for great designer finds both vintage and lightly used–Viyet is one of our go to resources.

When we were putting the finishing touches on the day, we knew that we had to have a Pencil & Paper Co. staple present: fresh flowers. Top of our list? The Farmer's Florist! Christie brilliantly uses flowers from her local farm to create beautiful floral arrangements and we absolutely can't wait to go pick our own fresh flowers from her beautiful farm.

Because we wanted our campers to ride around Nashville in style, our friends at Hello Trolley provided the MOST precious way to explore! Chris, our trolley driver, allowed us to turn up the volume, fill the trolley with laughs, and took us to numerous stops always with a smile on his face!  Thank you Chris!

Sikes, Ray Booth, McAlpine and Beth Webb!

Because we couldn't get enough of Sarah's fresh and local fare, we took the campers to Little Octopus to enjoy a beautiful lunch (we cant stop thinking about the avocado salad and chili shrimp bowl!) and chat about highlights from the day so far! If you make it to Nashville, Little Octopus is top of our list, perfectly situated in the heart of the Gulch, close to all of the action of downtown. A perfect stop for lunch or dinner and the yummiest cocktails!

We visited our sweet friend and fellow designer, Sarah Bartholomew's, meticulously curated new design store in Green Hills and had a chance to catch up with Sarah and hear all about her beautiful treasures. So inspiring!

We had such a great time scouring all of our favorite vintage stores and everyone came home with some AMAZING treasures.

we adore the hand-lettered balloon from the talented mother-daughter duo at vroom vroom balloon!

We wrapped up the fun with a champagne toast at one of our local favorites (and previous architecture projects) Draper James.

We are already working on our next Creative Camp (fingers crossed for late January). Please join our waitlist here to be the first to know when a date is announced and tickets are released!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this magical day happen, we are still on cloud nine and are beyond thankful for all of our amazing sponsors and most of all, our campers and followers!  We sure do love y'all!
