one room challenge: week 5 progress

I can't believe we are in week 5 of the One Room Challenge.  I've actually enjoyed having a weekly deadline to keep me on track and to get us ready for ALL of the company that will be coming to visit us in Nashville this summer.  So nice to finally be able to check the guest room off my list!

Most of our newly framed art arrived yesterday..... and our handy man quickly helped us hang art this morning.  One of my favorite transforming steps for sure.  And yes...that's why we are a tad late posting today!  Sorry!

As a refresh, my goal with the guest room was to challenge myself to add color on the walls and create a layered, relaxing, and functional space for our visitors.  Step by step we are getting close to the finish line!

Tomorrow is the final push...the bedding arrives from Annie Selke along with the much anticipated arrival of our custom Kayce Hughes painting.  Very exciting!  We will install the bedding, add a new box spring, make any final tweaks, do our styling magic and photograph with the amazing Leslee Mitchell.....all happening in one very LONG day!

Until then below is a little peek into what we've been up to this week...

I love taking advantage of all the windows and natural light with this little reading nook/ breakfast area for our guests.  A mix of materials and a juxtaposition of styles give a room personality and interest.  To achieve this, we mixed one of our favorite modern pieces, the tulip table with our vintage bamboo chairs (an awesome craigslist score, similar here) and Delft fabric by Clarence House.

We have installed our newly framed asian prints from "etsy". Possibly my favorite score ever for $10 each!  I adore the clean white linen matting and gold frames against the blush of the walls (Pink Ground from Farrow & Ball).

We also installed the Boston Library light from Bellacor as an accent/reading light to the right of the bed.  I love it's classic shape, great aged finish and especially love that you can control the direction and angle of the light!

Does your room need a little TLC?  We've got you covered...SHOP the look below or let's really get to know one another and have us design a room for you...check out our Design to Go program by clicking here!

We're having so much fun and can't wait to share the end result with you next week!  If you're just joining us and missed our progress, no worries, let's catch up!  Click here to see our scary "before" pictures from week one, here to see inspiration from week two, here for actual photos of the space with our fun new pieces from week three and here to find our art favorites from week four.
