one room challenge: week three

We've made it to the "half way" point of the "One Room Challenge"!!!  Hurray!  Last week we took the plunge and painted the white walls a very soft shade of blush called Pink Ground from Farrow & Ball.  As I mentioned previously, I'm trying to break out of my white walls mantra and it's NOT easy.  There is something about clean white walls that just feels right to the safety of your favorite well loved, perfectly aged jeans.  So please help convince me these blush walls weren't a huge mistake!!?

After the shock of the new paint settled, I jumped in and tackled placing orders. This Balboa rattan bed from Serena and Lily had me at hello and it's even more beautiful in person!!!  I knew it would add much needed texture to the space and I'm obsessed with the brass end cap detail on the legs of the bed.

The layout of the room is fairly challenging because of the a asymmetrical windows and multiple doors.  I knew that there were several existing pieces of furniture in the room that could be repurposed in the new design.  The vintage dresser has nice clean lines and provides great I know this will be a pretty focal point to layer a collection of art later.  I also kept the small vintage armoire from the existing room and have started my hunt for vintage ceramics to fill the top.  I recently had this vintage sofa recovered in a large scale tonal linen....uncertain where in the house it would land. And for now...I think it just might be the guest room sofa solution that I needed.

I'm definitely not scared to shop the rest of my house for needed pieces. Sometimes you discover you already own "exactly" what you are looking for.  For example, I scavenged the amazing vintage blue toille bedspread and white chinoiserie lamp from my son's room....his room has been screaming for a refresh!

Now I'm on to playing with the details. Figuring out the fabric mix for pillows and framing my vintage art scores (thank you Etsy).
