Today we are sharing our concept boards and the rooms that have inspired us along the way! I honestly can't believe we are already in week two of the One Room Challenge!!!  No pressure.... less than 3 weeks until our photo shoot and the room is still completely EMPTY!!!  Thankfully, we have placed all of our big orders and are now finalizing the details.  The GOOD news is our Farrow & Ball wallpaper has arrived and it's even prettier in person!  Check back next week....and fingers crossed we will have some furniture in our space!!!

fall one room challenge: the before

We are beyond excited to announce that we'll be participating again in the fall One Room Challenge, hosted by Linda with Calling it Home.  We had so much fun with the last challenge (our guest bedroom)  ....and there is nothing like a good deadline to keep us motivated.

This time around, we'll be tackling our sunroom and connecting patio area. When we moved in to our home a little over year ago, we focused our renovation on the interior spaces that were the biggest priority (kitchens, bathrooms etc). But, now we are so excited to get to the details!

Come join us on our journey as we transform this space!  Scroll down below to see the "before" images of the space...plus all of the super talented participants!

"picture perfect" - meg finds the "perfect" sofa

Hi friends, it's Meg here.  Apologies for the radio silence, things are crazy over here in the the Pencil & Paper Co. world.  We're working on so many exciting projects - a lot that take us off site but have no fear...this little "Picture Perfect" project of ours is trailing right along!  In fact, we just had our photoshoot yesterday, can't wait to share the finished project with you very soon!

For those of you who aren't aware...I'm a crazy animal lover and the proud mama to two of the cutest furry babies around, Sadie Kelly (my dog) and Caper Kittenhead (my crazy cat).  When we started this project, my number one goal was to find the "perfect sofa", one that aesthetically pleased me, was super comfortable, budget conscious and most of all, animal friendly!  You may remember from our first post how mortified I was to share photos of my previous sofa that had been completely DESTROYED by my cat Caper so to say I was in need of a new sofa was a serious understatement.

I had been on the hunt for awhile, we're talking years at this point and could never really pull the trigger.  I would find options that checked off a few of the items on my list but there was always something missing.  Then walks in the Sven sofa by Article and suddenly I'm all heart eye emoji!

What I love about this sofa is how it literally checked every single item off of my list.  It's crazy pet friendly, I mean look at Sadie...she can't get off the thing and Caper is completely uninterested in destroying it which makes me want to run down the street singing "Hallelujah" at the top of my lungs!  I love the scale and clean lines - at a little over 7' long, I can lay down without my feet even touching the ends!  I've already had a few friends enjoy a sofa sleep over and they even raved at how comfortable it is!  Plus, I'm not sure if any of you have shopped for a leather sofa as of late but man oh man they can be expensive!  The Sven retails for $1799 without any lack in quality..check, check!

So there you have it folks, I found my "Picture Perfect" sofa!  Now you'll have to excuse me while I go join Sadie!

original art love

One of my favorite things to do before I go to sleep is what I call..... "vintage hunting". I typically spend 15 minutes cozied up in bed with my laptop, decompressing with my etsy obsession. It's my alone time (the only part of the day that I get to do something just for me) and I absolutely treasure it! Sometimes it's vintage dresses that I'm obsessing about...but quite often it's art.

What I love about shopping for art on etsy is that you come across beautiful "Real Art" and sometimes you get extra lucky and its even affordable. When I say "Real Art"....I mean original pieces of signed art....sometimes you score a beautiful vintage treasure thats been hiding in someones basement for years....but sometimes you come across a super notable artist! Either way...it feels like a great museum tour to me! And I just I love that this beautiful art is accessible to everyone!

I admit, I LOVE the hunt- and Etsy allows me to "hunt" from by bed each night...which brings me lots of joy! Below are a few of my lusts from last night! Happy Hunting!
